Last Day in Paris

Our last day in Paris we four had decided to sit around coffee shops all day and take it easy. This turned out to be a really excellent plan because the weather had turned snowy overnight and then into a nasty thick rain.
When we awoke at 9:35 we were originally told we had only 25 minutes to get up and get out of the hostel. However, at 5 past Dana came up to give us our metro passes and let us know we didn't have to leave until 11. We took our time after that and left our luggage in the downstairs dungeon of a luggage room.
We went out and found a cute cafe across the street from our metro stop and had sandwiches and coffee. Instead of journalling and reading as we had planned, we just sat and talked. It was a really good time to get to know each other.
After, we walked around the wet streets into a couple stores. The monoprix was cool - supermarket on the bottom and clothes on top. I almost bought a french scarf but decided to save my money for either my dream boots or a new scarf from Prague. We went into a bunch of shoe stores and one of them had the boots I wanted. I would have gotten them but they were a size too small and didn't have any more of them.
Wrote all our postcards in a different cafe and mailed them off. We made it back to the hostel on time but were only there for a few minutes before Dana and Jeremy and I left to get some last-minute pastries from the patisserie. Everyone met us there and we took the metro to the bus to the airport.
Dana and Nina I felt were being silly - they made us get there so early we had to wait 45 minutes just to check in. They were so agitated about the entire process which of course makes everything worse. I wonder how they ever get anywhere on their own! At security, Keely and Eleanor left their waterbottles in their bags, which slowed everything down because not only did they get pulled for having too much liquid, they both also had to get wanded for metal. It took forever to get our bags through, and then our flight was delayed by an hour.
Anna led a couple games while we were all seated and waiting. We moved to the gate where the flight was delayed by another half an hour so we played crazy eights. There was a lot of extra room on the plane once we finally got on so we had room to stretch out and try to nap. Dana and Nina sent us home on the bus and metro and went to their homes. We didn't get home until close to 1 AM.
