Internet, Maybe. Microwave, No.

Meeting with the hostel people at 8:15, so we all trooped downstairs for breakfast and got talked at. Mostly they just wanted to "ask for our suggestions" but that turned out to be just telling us what they were going to change and then doing it. When asked about internet, they said they were working on providing it to us. When asked about a microwave for general use, though, it was flatly denied. We were told that we could use the one in the kitchen (if someone is down in the kitchen) until 7pm. Snowed overnight, so I got to wear my new rainboots which are awesome!! We draped with two pieces of fabric today. Tomorrow in studio apparently we have to make a Valentine's Day dress, and it has to have a heart on it. Yuck. It's Ladja and Nina's favorite pastime to make us watch completely useless and poorly-put-together powerpoint presentations. We did watch one today that was a student competition of fashion. Tomorrow we get to see the results. History of Fashion was a little slower, but mostly just as boring. We met Pavla outside today. As a group we headed to the Convent of St. Agyness, a nearby church/abbey from a bazillon years ago. The art was interesting enough, if you could get past the overly spiritual aspects of it, which admittedly was hard to do since it was a church holding the exhibition. Some of the construction of the artwork, though, was interesting, and the styles in which they painted and sculpted are so different from our current styles of doing so that they are an anachronism today.
We walked around with the boys from LAR who I'm having a fun time getting to know. They are all really down to earth and sometimes a nice counterpoint to all the girly girly stuff going on in ADN, Jeremy notwithstanding. There is some talk of Rome for Spring Break, but it looks expensive. We'll see. We watched Monsters, Inc. all crowded together in Lauren and Blakeley's room. They have an extra bed in the middle and nice feathery down pillows. When Heather leaves on Sunday I'm going to steal her pillow so that I have an extra one.
