all my presents are wrapped, under the tree, or waiting on my desk.
send me a sign, your words are not enough. i just want to keep riding the ferris wheel, your arm around me, us on top of the world. just making a fool of myself all over again.
i want it to be summer, i want to sit on a bridge with a bathing suit and your old t-shirt on, i want to hold your hand and look out over the river
i want a cup of coffee in a button down shirt and bikini briefs and nothing else
i want you and me in my car on our way to the beach, a scarf in my hair and a Coke in your hand. i want us laughing and singing along to the songs we grew up with.
i want stupid pictures and funny photo albums and the 60s back
i want a hand to hold, a back porch swing, and a sunset, a big, beautiful orange one where i can watch the light on your face
i want the stars to shine, and i want us to see them, and i want you to remember that whenever you look up at the sky, i am looking at the same moon, and it draws me to you like it draws the tides to the shore
i want a train trip, and me asleep on your shoulder, and old suitcases, and classic cars. i want all the good parts of history back, and none of the bad
